The virtual Habitable Worlds 2021 conference is February 22-26, 2021, and the abstract deadline is tomorrow on December 9!

The virtual conference is organized by the Nexus for Exoplanet System Science (NExSS) in coordination with the American Astronomical Society (AAS). NExSS is a NASA research coordination network devoted to the study of habitability and detectability of life on exoplanets.
In preparation for the conference, researchers from multiple science communities involved in the study of exoplanet habitability were surveyed to determine topics of interest. |

We thank everyone who responded, and we've compiled the results into the following summaries: All communities determined that subjects important to assessing habitability and where progress can be made include: mantle / core dynamics; tectonics (volatile cycling); and orbital dynamics. Areas the astronomical community thought were important but are not on the planetary/Earth scientists' radar include: stellar activity. Areas the planetary/Earth scientists thought were important but aren't on the astronomers' radar include: tectonics, thermal evolution, and magma oceans. In addition to these topics, the SOC has perceived the need for discussions of the structural impediments to interdisciplinary research. The SOC encourages abstracts on any topics related to the habitability of exoplanets, but especially the topics above. Submission is easy!
