"Every age group has had the full spectrum of responses. There are different life stressors, but they're all struggling with the disruption in their personal lives, as well as the disruption in their work life." — Jane D. Englebright, PhD, RN CENP, FAAN, senior vice president and chief nursing executive for HCA Healthcare

Covid-19 has pushed most nurses beyond their limits with the sheer volume of critically ill patients, staffing shortages, fear, and comforting dying patients and their families who can't be together. Even the most seasoned nurses have struggled to cope, so what about the newest, youngest nurses? I talked with Jane D. Englebright, PhD, RN CENP, FAAN, senior vice president and chief nursing executive for HCA Healthcare, which employs about 98,000 nurses, about how the hospital system has helped its nurses—particularly its youngest nurses—navigate the pandemic. Read about it here.
