Brimbank City Council Officers celebrated the final session of the CUL-TI-VATE Program with a pitch night from participants. 

The program is run over six weeks and designed to accelerate the process of finding a business idea, developing it, and scaling the business into a sustainable model.

Federal Government Commonwealth Procurement rules have changed to increase opportunities for small businesses to supply goods and services to the Federal Government.

Improving ventilation reduces COVID's spread, so the State Government is offering the following assistance to small businesses.

Ventilation Rebate – A $500 rebate to purchase equipment or hire a qualified tradesperson to improve ventilation.

Ventilation Grant – Matched grants between $1000 to $5000 to small businesses who employ staff to invest in larger projects such as building works, services or equipment to improve ventilation.

Sustainability Victoria's Waste to Energy Fund for projects creating bioenergy from organic waste or finding uses for residual products is now open.

The fund is aimed at, but not limited to, the following sectors:

  • Agricultural and livestock
  • Forestry
  • Food production
  • Food retail including the hotel industry
  • Wastewater management

Grant guidelines â€“ Stream 1: Project Development: for grants between $20,000 and $250,000.

Grant guidelines â€“ Stream 2: Project Infrastructure: for grants between $50,000 and $1 million.
