Any day now! I keep telling myself... Any day I'll get the front end back for Dr Z, any day now and the MBV numbers will drop, any day now, us Southern Lepers will be allowed to skulk from our lairs and roam out into the world again. We may need to have new number plates fitted to cross the border though - Victoria: The Unclean State I'm tonguin' for a winding road, a swirl of campfire smoke, a few beers and my mate's conversation. You know the crew that talks crap but the sort of witty, insightful crap that we seem to have connected with over the years. In a world where there is a veritable flood of drivel and misinformation, I'm missing the unique idiocy of my mates. I wonder if there's a campground that straddles Victoria and New South Wales? Shouting across the Murray River isn't quite what I have in mind but I'll bet there is a cracker spot out there somewhere. I'm thinking Bonang, Delegate River Rd, the Bendoc area or Little Bog. That's as good a reason to go for a ride as any I reckon. |

| Who gives a rat's about the destination? A road, a mate and a campfire are enough. |

This month's newsletter will be a bit more pictorial than usual. A bloke's gotta dream! Any day now callers will stop rubbing it in too. "It's great up here mate, we are heading bush this weekend", "I had a lovely day ride yesterday", "We have a motel booked at the top of the range". There's a limit to my calm customer-focused interaction. The next person who tells me about their riding will end up with some advice regarding 'Sex and Travel'! The sooner I get back on the road, the sooner my back will recover too. I think it's important to have something to show for the time stuck at home. Getting some landscaping done seemed the right thing to tackle. Is it me or has someone moved the ground lower recently? It never seemed that far away in the past! Digging holes, setting posts, laying bricks and generally grovelling about in the dirt has me walking like the old man I swore I'd never be! Struth, I'll end up with so much domestic credit I'll never be able to spend it! |

Website Upgrade I always dread software 'stuff-up-dates'. If it ain't broke don't fix it seems to be lost on the modern digital world. For a year or two now I've been holding my fingers in my ears and chanting 'lalalalala' trying to ignore the inevitable. The Andy Strapz website ain't broke but it could do with a new paint job and tune. As our range has grown in the last couple of years it's become obvious that the website needed to grow with it. Feedback from website users has also been really useful in helping us set a direction for it. We've moved to a more traditional menu system while still trying to keep it as simple as possible. As it's only really a facelift, the function should hold while it transitions to the new look. Naturally, Murphy will come to play and I'll be gobsmacked if there are no more glitches. Over the years we've learnt a lot and I'm pretty happy with where we will end up with the update. Desktop View |

| The big challenge is to make a handheld device friendly site these days and I think we are well on the way to nailing that too. Above you'll see how the categories open as you tap on them. Check out the new site now |

If you haven't been to the Grampians yet, make sure it's on your to-do list. Especially in spring, it is one of the world's flora diversity hotspots. |

Opening Arrangements As of the first week of October, we are still not in a position to welcome visitors back to our physical showroom. It looks that we are gonna have to stay closed for another couple of weeks. The crew are still bangin' out gear at a cracking rate and Telstra willing, the phones still work. |

Product of the Month - Forma Terra Evo |
|
| It's no secret I'm a big fan of Forma boots. I first came across the brand in Indianapolis, spying the now famous, Adventure boot across a tradeshow aisle. "Eureka", I'd found the boots I was looking for. I boldly stepped up and asked how I could get them into Oz to be greeted with the news, yesterday we appointed a distributor for Australia. As soon as I got home I rang and chased up that bloke. He was a bit taken aback when I related my experience in Indy. He had no stock or warehouse, never mind boots for me to trial. Over time we became mates and worked to develop the boots with the factory. Demand for a slightly more protective boot grew and the Terra boot came into being, developing into the Terra Evo, a pre-production pair still grace my tootsies. My Terra Evos have become my 'go-to' Adventure Boots. I wear the Adventure Low for road riding outings and the Terra's if things are gonna get more than a touch dusty. The full Enduro sole is not the all day, hiking slipper the Adventure series is but it's not too much of a drawback for the full foot protection it offers me. The lateral ankle stiffeners add an extra dimension of ankle protection and of course, they are waterproof. Yes, Mum, I know I should be wearing full Enduro boots after last year's busted ankle but hey the whole Adventure riding thing is one big compromise. |
