By attosa
These little caterpillar decorations are easy to make. You can use wire or toothpicks to hold them together. If you use wire, you can make them slither around. So fun!
Cardboard Halloween Pumpkin and Ghost
By 15mhhm15
Are you on a budget this Halloween? Or want a mess free way of carving a pumpkin? You can recycle any cardboard boxes you may have laying around. I was able to make this pumpkin and ghost carving with an X-acto knife. Inside you can use a flashlight or LED candle.
Black Lace and White Ribbon Pumpkin
By Sandi/Poor But Proud
I have wanted to cover a pumpkin in lace since I saw one using an old pair of lacy hose. I finally just stopped and did it.

This is an extremely easy and super thrifty way to make a beautiful headdress that will make you look kine you're shining! All you need is a thin headband, some zip ties, and gold paint. I added some glitter for extra pizzazz!
Paint Pumpkins with Acrylic Paint
Paint your pumpkins with Acrylic paint. Lightly trace face you want on pumpkin and then paint with acrylic paint. When dry spray lightly several times with acrylic spray to protect from damp weather.
Sprucing Up Cheap Greeting Cards
By attosa
Many of the the 3D and pop-up style greeting cards start with a base price of around $7. My mum and I buy budget cards (2 for $1) and spruce them up. Here, we've created paper pumpkins, added them to a thick line of string, then glued it on the inside of the card.

Make several in different colors and scatter on your tree. Easy for kids to do too. If you visit with older folk, like at convalescent homes, it is a craft most can do without help.

I have a bowl full of decorative balls on my TV table throughout the year. I decided that this year I wanted to put seasonal items in the bowl. I found this awesome gold spider and instantly knew what to make for my bowl!

Here's another year for my kiddo's United Nations Celebration. This means another DIY costume. His country was Greece and so I'm gonna need a headdress. Mostly they are laurel leaf headdresses, so I'm gonna make one.

Recycled Metal Lid Ladybird (Ladybug) Wall Decoration
By ShirleyE
This is so cute and easy to make. Use any size lid from a jar and acrylic paint. If you don't have black and red cardstock or paint then allow yourself a little "poetic licence" and make your ladybirds in other crazy colours.

Do you use a lot of paper towels? Here's a way to help cut down and save money in the process. Get some flannel and some terry cloth from the fabric store; about 3 yards of each.

This "handy" snack was always my mum's lovely way of trying to give us something healthier than candy on Halloween. It is cute in a spooky way, and that always makes up for the lack of chocolate. Okay, part of the time!

These monster clips are very easy to make and have many uses around the house. Before your child helps you make them, you can choose a 'nice' book about monsters to read. Two of my favorites are, "Leonardo the Terrible Monster", by Mo Willems and "My Friend the Monster", by Eleanor Taylor.

I love to see what other people do when they carve Jack-o'-lanterns. Here are some of the ones our family did, if you are looking for inspiration. :)

My 2 year old son picked out an adorably small pumpkin at the pumpkin patch this weekend. I prefer to freehand whatever I carve on my pumpkins and needed a simple idea that I could fit on a small pumpkin. I decided to make his pumpkin into a kitty, since he loves kitties!

Create glittering holiday ornament to dress up your tree. Add bow and holly leaves for finishing touches.
Pumpkin pots add personality and charm to Halloween and Thanksgiving décor. If you make them in September, you can add soil and seeds so they will be overflowing with fragrant herbs, just in time for holiday cooking.
Measuring for Polar Fleece Blankets
When buying fabric to make fleece blankets, get one with a plaid background, to save time in measuring for making the fringe around the edges. Use the width of your thumb for the width of each fringe, and the length of the scissors to the length of the fringe.

Did you know that magazine covers can be curled just like curling ribbon? I'm sure you have tons of magazines around. Get cracking with the strips of paper, scissors, and glue sticks. It looks fabulous especially when some are left straight.
