Some residences tend to pass from one high-profile person to another—a handsome Romanesque Revival carriage house sequestered within a gated mews in New York City's bustling Murray Hill neighborhood, for example. The four-story Sniffen Court home was once owned by the German supermodel Claudia Schiffer, who sold it in 2002 to the Irish comedian and chat show host Graham Norton. Now up for grabs at $5.6 million and refurbished for Norton by Gachot Studios with vibrant splashes of saturated color, the two-bedroom spread has a double-height living room and a planted roof deck. Up the coast a bit, a historic legacy estate on Nantucket Island listed for $22.8 million comprises several structures with a total of 12 bedrooms and almost as many bathrooms.
