Former Australian of the Year Grace Tame has thrown her support behind a proposed ACT law change that would make organisations liable for the sexual abuse of children in their care, Lanie Tindale reports.

The ACT government is pledging between $30 million and $38 million to address family, domestic and sexual violence in the 2025-26 budget, Lanie Tindale reports.

Protective screens will be installed for bus drivers after a spate of vicious attacks. Drivers in the ACT are also to be trained in how to "de-escalate" threatening situations, Steve Evans and Lanie Tindale report.

And trust in police begins with treating all children with humanity, argues reporter Tim Piccione, following the release of an Ombudsman's report earlier this week, critical of the use of force by police.

Wednesday will be partly cloudy with a forecast top of 13 after an early frost.
