Words Matter: Vaccine Emails That Get Results

As any American media consumer knows, there is a lot of time and attention right now focused on encouraging people to protect themselves from COVID-19 by getting an appointment for a vaccine. New data from Granicus suggests that people are much more likely to open COVID-19 vaccine emails than a lot of the other messages that flood inboxes. Subject lines are especially important, and the company suggests an urgent tone, a focused message and the involvement of a local official for maximum results.

Stimulus Money Pouring into State and Local IT

Earlier this month, we reported on a service from the GSA that might help other jurisdictions on their single sign-on journeys. Login.gov is offering its authentication and ID verification service to local and state jurisdictions with work linked to federal programs.

Fueling a Car for 75 Cents a Gallon?

One facet of its strategy is a new structure for electric rates that makes it much cheaper to charge electric cars at home. According to their calculations, the new pricing means an overnight charge would cost about the same as filling up the gas tank at the bargain basement rate of less than a dollar a gallon. GT’s Skip Descant has more details on the utility’s comprehensive zero-emissions strategy
