Situational Analysis | October 20, 2023 It's Friday and it's the National Day on Writing, a particular favorite of mine. There is SO much BIG NEWS right now - my wish for you this weekend is to take a break from it all for at least a little bit. What You Need to Know Governor Cox held his monthly news conference yesterday. He said the chaos in the Republican-controlled US House of Representatives was an "embarrassment", he plans to endorse Brad Wilson for the Utah Senate seat, he thinks there should be a criminal investigation into Tim Ballard and says social media companies are making billions killing our kids. President Biden addressed the nation last night following his trip to Israel. He made it clear that the US stands with Israel, but also urged Israel to not be "blinded by rage." He will send an "urgent budget request" to Congress today, asking for funding for Israel and Ukraine, and said there is no place for hate in America - "not against Jews, not against Muslims, not against anybody." Rapid Relevance Another day, still no Speaker; Chick-fil-A releases free digital cookbook; famous âYellowstoneâ ranch is available for rent in Utah; and Utah elephants Christie and Zuri arrive at their new home in Kansas City | |
