With 10 days until the General Data Protection Regulation takes effect, Google continues to frustrate publishers with its approach to preparing for the law.

"An extreme step": As publishers scramble to get compliant with GDPR, some U.S. publishers with small European audiences and businesses are mulling just blocking European IP addresses outright from accessing their sites.

Advertisers are questioning the value of data management platforms even as GDPR has put legal data collection in the spotlight.

Joining other publishers and platforms in creating offerings to prove advertising works, Hearst is launching a 20-person data studio to provide additional insights to advertisers about how the publisher's audience responds to ads.
