Google Assistant is out with a new feature that allows users to “confirm with voice match” to make purchases online. The feature is seemingly available on both iPhone and Android devices, though exact details about how and where it can be used are still fuzzy – indicating this is still experimental. However, the support page touts the ability to “make purchases with your Google Assistant, like in-app purchases,” for example. There are certainly many scenarios in which voice match purchasing could be useful. We’ll have to see how Google rolls this out. Identity resolution is increasingly top-of-mind for digital marketers these days, but vendors come in all shapes and sizes, from large data firms and credit reporting companies to martech platforms that include ID resolution capabilities as part of their offerings.
