Goodbye to Red Lerille

BY ADAM DAIGLE | Acadiana Business Editor

The stories of Red Lerille's work ethic and accomplishments will never get old.

They were still being told on Saturday at his funeral St. Mary, Mother of the Church in Lafayette, his longtime church. Lerille, a U.S. Navy veteran, former Mr. America and Mr. Universe, and owner of Red's Health Club, was celebrated a final time after thousands of friends, associates and club members attended the visitation prior to the funeral.

"Through Red's he taught the importance of caring for the body and disciplining yourself, while also nourishing yourself with the true bread of Christ," Bishop Douglas Deshotel said.

You can read Joanna Brown's story here.

Have a great day and thanks again for reading.
