| | | Some good news and bad news on this last day of 2020. The good news? This crazy year is almost over. 😀 The bad news? We're still a little bit short of our year-end fundraising goal. So we hope you can make a donation today to shape the future of the web for the public good in 2021. Yes, I'll chip in Thank you in advance, and all the best to you in the new year! – The Mozilla Team (Original message below) | | Hello, Today, I’m asking you to give to Mozilla. Because now is the time to make a difference. 2020 was an unprecedented year. The global pandemic made it clear how central the internet has become to all aspects of life. Work, school, family, holidays, elections, medical care, protest – everything – is now driven by the internet. And those with poor or no connection are left further behind. This vastly increased reliance on the internet reinforces my view – Mozilla’s view – that we need a better internet. 2021 is an opportunity for us to take all we learned, sometimes the hard way, in 2020 and make the internet better for everyone. That is exactly what we plan to do. Yes, I'll give now Mozilla continues to fuel the movement of people committed to building a healthier digital world. Of course, we do not have all the answers for improving the internet, or for competing with the tech giants as we do so. We take on these challenges not because they are easy, but because they are important, and urgent. We have made progress this year, and I'm very proud we've managed to do so in the middle of such a challenging year. Yet there is far more work to be done, and we ask for your support to carry this work out. Yes, I'll chip in It's abundantly clear that now, more than ever, Mozilla's independent voice is needed. So we ask for your support to magnify this voice and keep fighting for you in 2021 ... and wish you a safe and healthy new year! Sincerely, – Mitchell Baker Chairwoman Mozilla Foundation P.S.
