Good Jobs Summit

Secretary of Labor Marty Walsh, Deputy Secretary Julie Su and the Families and Workers Fund gathered government, labor and workforce leaders for a Good Jobs Summit this week. The summit, which featured Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm, Rep. Bobby Scott, White House Infrastructure Implementation Coordinator Mitch Landrieu and others, highlighted government policies that empower working people. The Departments of Labor and Commerce also released Good Jobs Principles, outlining a path to advance quality jobs for all workers.

$11.4 million to help ensure workers have equitable access to unemployment insurance

Were awarding $11,406,000 in grants funded by the American Rescue Plan Act to help Maryland, Nebraska and South Dakota improve the delivery of unemployment insurance services to people who in the past have faced barriers to access.

Got an idea for workplace safety and health training? Apply for a grant

Were making $11.7 million available in Susan Harwood Training Grants to support workplace safety and health training and education. The grants will target disadvantaged, underserved, low-income, and other hard-to-reach, at-risk workers and employers.
