Dear John What do you do… When life knocks you down? When you are thrown in the “furnace?” When everything seems to be going wrong? I have good news for you. You can do something! Here are two things I learned from Dad that I believe will help you. #1. Turn your worry into action. This is a hard one to master but worth it. Dad taught me that identifying a problem is POSITIVE, not negative. It only becomes negative when you focus on the problem and not the solution. So here are the simple steps: Identify the problem List the solutions you have some control over and take action immediately on them Turn everything you don’t have control over to God #2. Change your mindset from “going” through to “growing” through. When the tough times come, and they will, and somebody asks you how you are doing, let them know you are growing a lot right now. Take time each day to journal and dig into your situation and ask yourself what you are learning. Now apply this learning to step #1 and take action. I saw my Dad go through a lot of tough times, and yet I never saw him worry. I saw him go through extreme grief, terrible disappointment, and tough times. I also saw him take action on what he could, turn the rest over to God, and intentionally learn and grow in each situation - and his learning impacted millions through his sharing. You got this!
