Shavano Park neighborhood using license plate reader to crack down on crime Technology once used exclusively by law enforcement agencies is now used by property owners to track down drivers through license plates. Helen Cronenberg, of Shavano Park, is a homeowners association president for a community that was having issues with break-ins last fall. The community installed a 24-hour surveillance camera to crack down on crime. City exploring options to help homeowners unable to pay higher property taxes in gentrified areas As property taxes continue to rise in San Antonio, the city is researching ways to ease the financial burden for residents in gentrified neighborhoods. Brian Hill grew up in the Government Hill neighborhood, where two generations of his family have lived.
