A Whataburger customer caught a crazy scene on camera in a video posted on YouTube Saturday night: a small rodent that appears to be a mouse scampering around a Whataburger restaurant in Bastrop, Texas. Emergency clinic staff ready to help when people go bump in the night The sound of a wailing siren on the street outside would signal trouble to many people. But inside The Emergency Clinic at the Pearl late one recent night, staff members maintained their calm. "It's the night shift. All the weird stuff happens at night," said Dr. Christina Lumbreras. After a year as the physician on duty at the clinic during the graveyard shift, Lumbreras isn't fazed by much that she sees coming through the clinic's doors. Kiddie Park to reopen at San Antonio Zoo in October San Antonio Zoo officials have announced the grand opening date of the relocated Kiddie Park. The iconic children's amusement park will open its gates to the public Oct. 18. The San Antonio Zoo bought Kiddie Park earlier this year and relocated it to the zoo grounds. Guests can already book birthday parties for dates past Oct. 18 online. Today's Headlines Former SA Mayor Lila Cockrell to be laid to rest Thursday Former San Antonio Mayor Lila Cockrell is set to be laid to rest on Thursday. The public memorial service will take place at 10 a.m at the Laurel Heights United Methodist Church on Woodlawn Avenue and will be then followed by a private ceremony. Cockrell was the first woman to serve as San Antonio's mayor. She was sworn into office in 1975 after serving on San Antonio's City Council for a decade. Apartment residents displaced after 3-alarm fire on NE Side Residents of a Northeast Side apartment complex had to be evacuated from their homes due to a 3-alarm fire late Wednesday night, the San Antonio Fire Department said. Firefighters were called just after 11 p.m. to the Villa Rodriguez Apartment Complex in the 3200 block of Nacogdoches Road after receiving word of a fire on an apartment balcony. San Antonio firefighters join elite state team in response to Hurricane Dorian As states in Hurricane Dorian's path are sending out calls for help, some of San Antonio's most skilled firefighters are answering that call. The crews are part of an elite state team called Texas A&M Task Force 1. Though the mission is dangerous and overwhelming, it's one they've taken on many times before.
