The fireworks were set off inside Dillard’s Wednesday afternoon and shoppers began to self-evacuate, police said. The two teenagers who ignited the fireworks then fled. No injuries or damage were reported, but shoppers remained on high alert. What’s TrendingSouth Texas sheriff warns about traveling to Nuevo Laredo amid ‘intensive shootings’ A warning has been issued from the Webb County sheriff due to a string on shootings in Nuevo Laredo. Webb County Sheriff Martin Cuellar wrote on Facebook just before 7 p.m. Wednesday that “intensive shootings” between cartel members and the Tamaulipas State Police have taken place for hours. “Please avoid these areas and do not cross over to Nuevo Laredo,” Cuellar warned. “It’s been said that high-caliber machine guns and explosives are being utilized.” Wild deer spotted with Christmas lights tangled in antlers in SA neighborhood Wild deer in backyards have become a common sight for residents who live in Colonial Oaks. “We have a lot of deer in our neighborhood," resident Mike Pesses said. “In fact, some have even been born in my backyard." Pesses said he saw something unusual on a deer last week — in between its antlers were Christmas lights. “It’s not allowing him to move as freely as he normally would," Pesses said. Meet the first San Antonio baby born in 2020 Welcome to the world, baby Penelope. Penelope Navarro was the first baby born in San Antonio in 2020 — 25 seconds after midnight. She was born at Methodist Children’s Hospital in the Medical Center, and the hospital presented the family a gift basket. Penelope’s parents, Sarah and Robert Navarro, say they are excited about raising their new baby girl, and she has already stolen their hearts.
