A prank event on Facebook that’s attracted more than 1 million interested people suggests that a mass of people attempt to run into the mysterious site at 3 a.m. on Sept. 20. 'While You Were Sleeping': 'Harvest time' at produce distributor happens in middle of night With a clipboard in hand, Edward Castillo begins rounding up an early morning harvest inside the warehouse of River City Produce. The fresh fruits and vegetables that he is gathering up, though, are not to make a meal for himself. Instead he, as a shipping supervisor, will make sure they’re loaded onto trucks outside the building, located southwest of downtown San Antonio, and sent to restaurants and retailers all across the state. Today's Headlines 12 detained after police find weapons, meth, explosives on North Side Twelve people were detained at a home on the North Side on Wednesday afternoon after police found several weapons, explosives and drugs. About 14 San Antonio Police Department units responded to the home in a neighborhood on Rustic Bend, just east of Vance Jackson Road near Huebner Road, for a report of a bullet fragment going through a neighbor's window. US airman stationed in San Antonio earns Silver Star Medal The heroic actions of a U.S. airman stationed in San Antonio have earned him a Silver Star Medal. In January 2018, a U.S. special operations team in Afghanistan, which included Tech. Sgt. Michael Perolio, met with an Afghan militia group to establish a united front against the Islamic State group in the region. As the team was leaving, they were betrayed by the militia, who began firing at them from a nearby rooftop. No decision yet as GBRA considers draining 4 lakes for safety Concerned over the possibility of empty lakes, property and business owners filled the building at Guadalupe-Blanco River Authority's Wednesday morning board meeting.
