I thought they would be great turned into coasters using a bit of card stock paper. Old Coffeemaker for Melting Candle Wax
I bought an old coffee maker at the thrift store for about $4 and use it to melt bits of old candles with. I made molds from plastic containers of different shapes and sand molds from the dollar store.
Using Toy Catalog Pages as Gift Wrap
When it comes to wrapping presents/gifts, I try to recycle what I have before purchasing anything unnecessary. Don't throw away all those holiday toy catalogs you receive in the mail. I was able to recycle and wrap a couple of gifts with the Target catalog!
Storing Rotary Cutter
A handy holder for a rotary cutter is an old glasses case that is closed on one end and open on the other. Insert cutter into case, roller edge first, and it keeps your cutter out of the way of small hands.
No More... Getting Lost in the Pattern
My mother is in her eighties, and was crocheting an afghan of cats. The pattern consisted of about 8 rows, each one different, and then a repeat of these 8 rows. She kept getting lost in the pattern, so I took index cards and printed each row of the pattern on a separate index card.
Safe Fingerpaints for Babies
For easy, safe fingerpaints, use whipped topping tinted with drink mix. They're safe even for babies to use (my son did this when he was in daycare and he wasn't 1 yet), but still messy enough to be appealing to small children.
Jewelry Armoire for Jewelry Crafts
Free standing jewelry armoires make attractive storage units for beads, jewelry findings, and tools. The armoires can be found for reasonable prices at Wal-Mart, thrift stores, and yard sales.
Decorate With Old Buttons
Decorate with buttons by gluing them to a lamp shade, picture frame, or clock. Use wire cutters to clip off the shank of any buttons that have them.

Blood Spots From Sewing
I use hydrogen peroxide (3%) on a cotton ball to remove blood spots when quilting or sewing, from the needle sticks. Removes with no trace of stain. I use it on other spots on clothes.

Singer 5838 Not Catching the Bobbin Thread
