Voornaam, First, the U.S. House of Representatives passed the For The People Act, one of the most significant voting rights and democracy reform bills in decades. Every single House Republican voted against it. Then, on Wednesday, the U.S. Senate held its first-ever hearing on the For The People Act. Yesterday, Georgia Republicans passed a massive voter suppression law to prevent eligible voters from participating in our democracy, limiting ballot drop boxes and even making it illegal for volunteers to hand out water to people waiting in line to vote. Here's the thing â it's not just Georgia. Republican state lawmakers across the country have introduced hundreds of bills in more than 40 states aiming to restrict Americans' access to voting.
