Game 5 of the 2022 LSU football season is here, and what a crucial game it is.

LSU leaves the state of Louisiana for the first time since January's Texas Bowl against Kansas State, traveling to face Auburn at Jordan-Hare Stadium at 6 p.m. on ESPN.

Both teams have identical records (3-1, 1-0 SEC), but they appear to be moving in opposite directions. LSU has won three straight after an opening loss to Florida State in the Caesars Superdome. Auburn is coming off a game it should have lost, a 17-14 overtime victory over Missouri, a game preceded by a 41-12 rout against Penn State.

LSU's a big favorite, but favorites can fall precipitously. LSU must carefully navigate a tricky game at Auburn to set up an even bigger game next Saturday at home against Tennessee.
