| | Israeli futurist predicts AI will ‘write a new Bible’ | During a conversation on AI and the "future of humanity" with journalist Pedro Pinto, Israeli author and professor Yuval Noah Harari said he believes AI is on the brink of creating a new religious text that he asserted might actually be true. Harari, an advisor to the World Economic Forum, seemingly cast aside claims of divine inspiration found in Christianity and other world religions and claimed AI could fulfill the religious "dream" of a book written by a "superhuman intelligence." Read more. | Gallup: Most Americans oppose men in women's sports | A poll from Gallup shows that an overwhelming majority of Americans oppose allowing men to compete on women's sports teams. Results showed that 69% of Americans believe trans-identified athletes should be required to compete against athletes of their same sex. In contrast, 26% said they should be allowed to compete against the opposite sex, down from 34% in May 2021. Fifty-five percent of respondents said "changing one's gender" is "morally wrong," representing an increase from the 51% who responded similarly in 2021. Read more. | Financial director charged with stealing 340K from church | Sara Ann Mock-Butler, the former financial director of Pikes Peak Christian Church in Colorado Springs, Colo., has been charged with stealing over $340,000 from the church to purchase several items for personal use, including adult sex toys. The former church employee faces 896 counts of financial-related crimes. Read more. | Woman charged with vandalizing Florida church | Alfa Illescas, 44, has been arrested and charged with vandalism for her alleged role in vandalizing St. Timothy Catholic Church of Miami on Saturday. Illescas was reportedly seen on video surveillance spray-painting church walls with words like "perverts" and "pigs" and kicking over trash cans. | | SBC eyes constitutional amendment banning women pastors | Some 80% of messengers with the Southern Baptist Convention voted to advance a measure to prevent women from serving as a "pastor of any kind," bringing the denomination one step closer to solidifying the rule as a constitutional amendment. The measure stipulates that no woman within a church affiliated with the SBC would be permitted to hold the title of pastor. Read more. | Bishops consider ban on trans surgeries at Catholic hospitals | The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops will vote on whether to amend official healthcare directives to prohibit Catholic facilities from offering services that affirm trans-identified individuals' perceptions about their sex during the 2023 Spring Plenary Assembly this week. The vote comes as a Lepanto Institute report contends that hospitals within the largest Catholic healthcare system in the U.S. are performing sex-change surgeries and puberty interventions for minors. | | Cartoon Network pushes gender confusion with nonbinary characters | An upcoming episode of Cartoon Network's "We Baby Bears" sees the characters introduce themselves and identify their pronouns. An anthropomorphic box is introduced as having "they/them" pronouns, while a talking bird also uses "they/them" pronouns. Libs of TikTok, which shared an excerpt of the episode, cited the use of a children's cartoon to promote LGBT ideology as the latest example of how "they're after your kids."
