Executive Director's Message
Funding supports research translation on all fronts 
In last month’s message I remarked on the breadth of Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF) and National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) funding across the VCCC alliance for some of Australia’s big cancers. This month, further funding has been announced that is consistent with our goal to speed up translation of cancer biology to 21st century personalised cancer care, prioritise new technologies and improve outcomes for people with cancers that have lower survival rates.

This month we are delighted to welcome Dr Mark Buzza to the VCCC leadership team. Mark will lead the strategic development and operational delivery of the VCCC clinical research programs portfolio.

Sarcoma Awareness Month webinar series
Weekly webinars during July
Australia and New Zealand Sarcoma Association (ANZSA) is partnering with the Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre in July to present a special series of webinars for Sarcoma Awareness Month. The webinar series will prompt discussion and answer questions on a range of topics including sarcoma-related clinical trials, managing practical issues while undergoing treatment, life after sarcoma treatment and patient referral pathways for GPs.
