Dear John,
I wrote to you yesterday, as a member of the EWTN Family, to share my thoughts on the Network and on how we can serve your needs during the pandemic and in the holy days to come. Today, I’d like to share the impact we’re seeing across our media platforms.
Since the start of the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19), EWTN has responded by making daily Mass, Eucharistic Adoration, devotionals, programs and news available to larger audiences through our broadcast channels and via streaming over the internet. We’ve gathered many of our favorite spiritual resources into one place on ewtn.com to make it easy for you to find prayers, request prayer intentions and watch, listen or stream the Mass, Adoration or other programs. New live streams via social media have been initiated to keep you connected to the Catholic Church, our Holy Father Pope Francis, and the cathedrals and churches around the globe.
Our audience of viewers, listeners and readers has grown tremendously. On ewtn.com alone, we've seen the following increases: EWTN website users are up by 158 percent Page views have grown nearly 200 percent Website referrals have increased 300 percent Hours of streamed content have more than doubled, and During the historic Urbi et Orbi with Pope Francis on March 27, our website had over 70 times our normal audience for a papal eventIn this time of crisis, EWTN continues to live the mission that Mother Angelica began nearly 40 years ago. And we will continue to do so beyond the days of this crisis.
As we conclude these days of Lenten preparation, please prayerfully consider a gift to EWTN here at this link: https://sd.ewtn.com/mothers-mission/
Your gift will help us continue to fulfill Mother’s mission and specifically during these days, to make improvements to our content delivery platforms that will enable us to reach an even larger audience. The need to keep the entire world connected to the Eternal Word has never been more important.
Thank you for being a part of the EWTN Family and for your ongoing financial support of our work. You help us to reach around the globe and make the Eternal Word known to millions, and for this I am eternally grateful.
May you have a holy Triduum and blessed Easter.
Sincerely in Christ,
Michael P. Warsaw Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer EWTN Global Catholic Network
