| | #3 | | Mobile Video Revenue to Hit $25 Billion by 2021 | | | | According to a new report from Strategy Analytics, worldwide revenue from mobile video will reach $25 billion by 2021, growing at a 28% compound annual growth rate.
Why This Matters: The report predicts that users of mobile video will more than double to two billion users by the end of 2022, equal to 36% penetration among the global mobile users. In 2010, advertising accounted for just 2% of worldwide mobile video revenue. That ballooned to 40% this year, and should swell to 66% by 2021.

| | THE CHATTER |  | Now, all of a sudden, we have 4K, mainly because display manufacturers saw the market going down for HD displays, and the easiest step forward for them was to copy and paste more pixels... The other option was to put higher dynamic range (HDR) [into HD displays], but that wasnt as easily done by manufacturers because that meant they would have to take measures to get more light out of displays to get better contrast. In my opinion if they had done so, people would have perceived contrast in such displays as resembling what we now call 4K, even if it would have still been HD and not 4K.
