NATIONAL: Event management platform Hopin has acquired on-site event solutions company Boomset. The new partnership will allow Hopin to expand beyond virtual events and begin offering on-site technology and services like badges, self-service kiosks and QR code check-in, plus meaningful data insights including session attendance, lead retrieval and full event demographics. Hopin is a multiproduct platform and has a virtual venue, studio and event marketing capabilities available to its users. ESSENCE has partnered with Mark Stephen Experiential Agency to create a hybrid version of the ESSENCE Festival for 2021. The theme this year is Live Loud, and the combined virtual and in-person event is focusing on resilience, celebration and power in the Black community. The in-person events, the next of which run from July 2-4, are available only to Louisiana residents and are honoring essential workers with panel discussions, drive-in movies and concerts. There’s also the ESSENCE Festival of Culture Virtual Marketplace, a digital 3D space where attendees can engage with big brands and small Black-owned businesses. EASTHAMPTON, NY: The East Hampton Historical Society has announced the return of the East Hampton Antiques & Design Show, taking place on the grounds of Mulford Farm from July 17-18. Marshall Watson will be the honorary chairperson for the preview cocktail party, which will occur July 16. Guests will have an early buying opportunity for any jewelry, fabric and textiles, collectibles and more. All ticket sales will benefit the East Hampton Historical Society. LAS VEGAS: Main Light LLC will be expanding to Las Vegas in August. The lighting company's new location will span 40,000 square feet, and when paired with the original location in Wilmington, Del., will double the amount of rental equipment available. The company also unveiled a new logo and customer service number to ensure event professionals are getting the equipment they need. ORLANDO/CENTRAL FLORIDA: Disney on Ice returns to Orlando in September with its new installment, Mickey's Search Party.
