Freeports: to ‘benefit entire country not just local economies’

The creation of Freeports in the UK "will no doubt become a significant contributor to the economic recovery of the country" following the Covid-19 pandemic and Brexit, the chief executive of the South East Local Enterprise Partnership has told Insider. The comments come as Insider launches a campaign to back the various Freeport bids, outlining what their credentials are and what the long-terms benefits to the economy will be.
