| How to Make Crock Pot Mashed Potatoes! |
Put them in the crock pot and forget them. When you get back, mash them right in the crock pot and you're ready to eat.
We have five kids and six granddaughters (no grandsons). I love each of them. And I love having them over for dinner. It seems like that is mostly on Sunday evenings. In the summer, it's burgers on the patio but in the winter, it's a sit-down affair. Crock pot potatoes make Sunday dinner more manageable.
You can cook your potatoes in chicken broth in the crock pot while you are in church or with family or friends then mash them in the crockpot when you get home.
When Merri Ann first made these, I thought they would either cook dry and scorch or be soggy in the broth. Instead they are just right, absorbing the broth but not drying out.
Like regular potatoes, you can add dairy when you mash them: butter, sour cream, and/or cream cheese. You don't have to; they are good with just the broth and a pat of butter.
I like the convenience, to be able to set them going and head to church and then when we're home, mashing them.
