Less than two weeks following his abrupt resignation as lead pastor of the now-defunct Hillsong Dallas church in January 2021, an internal investigation commissioned by Hillsong Global revealed that former pastor Reed Bogard—a married father of three—was accused of rape by a junior female staff member with whom he had a monthslong sexual affair while serving at Hillsong NYC years earlier. The former staffer, who asked not to be named when contacted by The Christian Post, confirmed her participation in a deposition concerning the allegation but declined to provide further details, stating, "I think at this stage ... I’m not going to comment. Everything that you have in that deposition is obviously something that I did, and I said in the context of a legal deposition. I think I just want to leave it at that." The Ukrainian Pentecostal Church of Nicholasville in Kentucky has raised approximately $145,000 at a bake sale to benefit those affected by the war in Ukraine. The event, held Saturday, included a lunch for those in attendance and a section at the church where around 100 donated baked goods were available for sale. The money raised will be distributed to churches throughout Ukraine with ties to the congregation to help buy supplies like food. Some of those food purchasing efforts will likely move to Poland, which borders Ukraine, as it is considered a more convenient place to get supplies. Continue reading.

Christian Post Executive Editor Richard D. Land weighs in on the recent debate regarding Rev. Andy Stanley's tweet about the Christian faith, asserting the real issue at hand can be summed up in two key questions: "How do we know what we know?" and "How do we know who Jesus is?" Reflecting on Christian history and teachings from the New Testament, Land concludes, "Jesus who is revealed in the New Testament must be accepted personally as Savior and Lord. Volumes of theological knowledge will not serve as a substitute for that one-to-one personal relationship." Continue reading.

Vineyard Anaheim, the "mother church" of the Vineyard USA movement, announced Sunday that it is officially disassociating from the charismatic denomination. Jay Pathak, the national director of Vineyard USA, said in a statement that Alan Scott, with his wife, Kathryn, made the announcement to their congregation during their Sunday morning church service. Pathak says the Vineyard Anaheim board "refused to sit down" for an "on-the-record" conversation "on the grounds that such a conversation would not be ‘relational’ or ‘honoring’ but could only be ‘structural and legal.'" While the Scotts have not given a specific reason for their decision, an official statement posted on the Vineyard Anaheim website indicates that the church's leadership "heard the invitation and direction of the Spirit (through scripture, counsel, prophecy, evidence of grace, and circumstance) to do what we have always done: take another step of faith and risk." V1 Church Senior Pastor Mike Signorelli has gone viral for cautioning parents about the "demonic" content in Disney Pixar's new release, "Turning Red." The New York City pastor told CBN News, "I believe that every parent— not just a pastor, but a parent—has a mandate to actually screen material because every single device you have in your home is a portal, either a window into the things of God or, unfortunately, things that I believe are demonic." Signorelli's video has since been removed from YouTube and Facebook, which the pastor expected and says he believes was due to it featuring scenes from the film. Continue reading.

The reality TV competition, which premiered on March 16, sees celebrities such as Jodie Sweetin ("Full House"), country stars Lauren Alaina and Craig Morgan, and NBA player Metta World Peace, face brutal conditions in the jungles of Panama for the chance to raise money for the charity of their choice. When facing fears about what might be lurking in the dark, Singletary says, "I just began to pray about it. ‘Lord, what do I fear here?’ … God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power and love and a strong mind," he maintained. "To be able to realize, ‘Hey, God created this.'" Continue reading.
