As I'm thinking and writing about the imminent summer solstice while the rain splatters against the window, it's easy to think that nothing much changes. In Britain, for example, summer will always require a certain sense of humour.
But of course, change is the only constant and so that brings me to my small slice of news.
After two and a half years at Bradt, it's time for me to move on.
One of the occupational hazards of reading about travel and Taking the Risk all the time is that it does encourage the desire to travel and, well take the risk.
So, I'll be freelancing once more, your emails from Bradt will now come from the [email protected] address and this email address will be discontinued.
So what is there for you to do? Not a lot, really! Ideally, add [email protected] to your safe list but even that's not essential.
Because, after more than fifty years of publishing, some things do stay the same: Bradt continue to publish beautiful, comprehensive books.
Cheers,
Abi & The Bradt Team
PS - Writing this newsletter has been one of my favourite parts of the job. I've loved hearing from you all, each and every one, from all over the world. If you do want to stay in touch, then you can find my portfolio details here and stories from the road on Inside the Travel Lab and its social media channels.
What will be your summer wildlife highlight?
Lying in a meadow of orchids with fritillary butterflies fluttering about? A dawn chorus that combines birds of woodland and wetland? A boat trip to an offshore island where seabirds scythe past you, barely an arm’s length away?
It's always a good time to join our Travel Club for exclusive material from authors, behind the scenes access and big discounts on our books.
PS – Too many emails? Click on monthly if you only want to hear from us once a month instead. You'll know it's worked because you'll be taken to a travel article to read as a thank you. No further action required!
