Hello fellow traveller, It’s Abi from Bradt and let's get started! If an email each week seems like too much, then you can always switch to monthly by clicking right here (you will know we've registered your preference because you'll land on a lucky dip travel article. Maybe we should just say that, overall, a good time was had, memories made, hair crumpled, marshmallows toasted, bacon sizzled and lakes splashed in all in spite of the rain. There was, inexplicably, even sunburn. But now we're all back at work and school and dreaming of the next adventure. Running along an outdoor theme is this week's brand new book by Patrick Kinsella: Caving, Canyoning, Coasteering... I've tried them all, hated the first and loved the other two, but there's more than just those three in the book. It’s all about wild time spent in wonderful places, from the mysterious depths of the labyrinthine limestone underworld beneath the Mendip Hills to the top of ice-clad arêtes and snow-dusted peaks of monstrous Munros in the Scottish Highlands, via seascapes and sub-aquatic environment in Devon and Cornwall, tumbling streams and ghylls in the Lake District, and cascade-concealed caverns in the waterfall-soaked world of the Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) in Wales. It’s not for the faint of heart, but there are escapades here to excite everyone. So. Are you up for the challenge? Cheers, Abi New & Upcoming Titles Caving, canyoning, coasteering...
