And to live here, the logic goes, is to understand that whatever the cost of the ticket, the show is more than worth the price of admission. In the aftermath of Hurricane Ida and deep into the second year of the coronavirus pandemic, some are reconsidering that cost/benefit analysis, and a few are coming to a different conclusion. STRAIN ON TRIAL: This week marks the beginning of the trial of former St. Tammany Parish Sheriff Jack Strain, who faces eight counts of sex crimes against underage boys. TESTING THE WATERS: The Krewe of Boo! rolled Saturday, and Halloween-themed parade's floats carried more than just riders and their throws.
