Free Library of Philadelphia Director Siobhan Reardon Resigns After Criticisms of System-wide Racism By Lisa Peet Siobhan Reardon, who served as president and director of the Free Library of Philadelphia (FLP) since 2008, has resigned in the wake of accusations of systemic racism throughout the library. The library has been accused of discrimination for several years, including in public discussion during City Council budget hearings in April 2019. A subsequent progress report revealed that full-time Black FLP employees earned the least of all racial groups, and that a full-time diversity and inclusion officer promised in 2017 had yet to be appointed. |

In romance, Eva Leigh's Would I Lie to the Duke, book two in the "Union of the Rakes" series, is another starred selection. "A duke who has no problem taking a more submissive role and an intelligent woman determined not to fail make an exquisite match in this second spicy, delectable tale." And in Amanda Flower's starred mystery, Dead-End Detective, "The lead characters, with their realistic flaws, kick off a well-developed mystery that isn’t quite as cozy as Flower's "Amish Candy Shop" mysteries.
