While 2019 was a fantastic year for university sports, 2020 promises to be even better! FISU started the year with a bang; launching a new logo, adopting an exciting new visual identity and taking the first steps towards building a stronger, vibrant global community of university sports. Shortly thereafter, in acknowledgement of his outstanding work as FISU President, Oleg Matytsin was appointed to the post of Sports Minister of the Russian Federation, a position of immense responsibility and FISU couldn't be prouder.  

With one year to go for the Lucerne 2021 Winter Universiade, the quirky mascot Wuli was revealed to the world... and on the educational front, FISU announced three scholarships for the year. Phew! What a year it's already been and it's only January.
