I’m nervous about sharing this with you because it feels weird. I’m reading a book (from which my weekly quote is taken)… Aliza Light’s On Brand. I was in a bookstore recently and it just felt like it jumped off the shelf at me. You ever have that happen? Where a book just begs for you to read it? The title is perfect because I’ve always wrestled with the NakedPastor brand. I’ve worked with a few companies that have helped me build the NakedPastor “brand”. They’ve all admitted that it’s been complicated and challenging, but also exciting. It’s because I do so many things. Paintings. Cartoons. Books. Courses. Speaking. Coaching. And I’m on almost all social media platforms. I’m a busy guy doing a lot of things. Some brand strategists insist I need to find a niche and stick to it, then let all the other things be “side hustles”. But this has never felt right to me. And all the companies and people I’ve worked with, including the one I’m working with now, all come to the same conclusion. They all exclaim, “YOU are the brand!” So, if I’m the brand… If I’m NakedPastor… then everything I do is me and so everything I do belongs. My problem is: What is the common thread that holds everything I do together? What is the core of everything? Do you ever ask yourself this question about yourself? Like… what would you want to be remembered for? I'm going to ask you to do something for me... |
