Last Friday, I managed to get into Melbourne and time my arrival so that I could be out of the terminal to do my usual Friday afternoon ABC Sydney Drive conversation without the interference of Airport PA systems and general clutter and noise. If travelling on a Friday, I need to manage my departure and arrival times in and around my regular radio interviews, so it always involves a little bit of careful planning, sometimes with a few serves of good luck to make sure that even with the odd delay, I’m not trapped in a queue or worse still, in transit when I’m supposed to be dialling in.
