No less than 24 Fife companies exhibited at the 3 day Speciality Food Show in Glasgow earlier this week. The event, which generally sees around 1000 dedicated food buyers and an additional 3500 trade buyers from various department stores, multiples and independent retail outlets etc. provided the ideal opportunity for businesses seeking access to new markets. Attending, what is Scotland's only trade show for the speciality food and drinks market, was made possible for many of these companies through the support offered through the "Trade Development Programme". |

| | New Service to Tackle Trade Barriers
After the UK’s exit from the EU, it is expected that businesses will experience new trade barriers that will slow down, limit or prevent a UK business exporting to or investing in an overseas market. However, the Government are looking to reduce the impact of this through the "Report a Trade Barrier" tool which enables you to log and detail what is stopping your export. Once considered by a global team of trade experts, a response will be generated to help you resolve the issue.

Funding is still available to businesses from the Scottish Government, which enables small to medium-sized Scottish enterprises to access up to £4,000 to manage a wide range of Brexit impacts such as; air travel from Scotland to international markets to react to supplier and/or customer issues directly relating to Brexit and reviewing and optimising transport or logistics arrangements.
