Fiction highlights: Naomi Alderman on The Power | Simon Callow celebrates A Christmas Carol

Naomi Alderman’s The Power, a gripping, anarchic sci-fi novel which imagines a future dominated by female power, became a cult classic when it was published in 2017. It went on to win the prestigious Women’s prize for fiction that year, and was praised by the judges for its “urgency and resonance”.
Join Alderman with the Guardian’s Alison Flood for our next Guardian Live Book Club, as they discuss The Power, its themes and inspirations. They will also talk about Alderman’s highly anticipated new novel, The Future, in this livestreamed event.
