Riccardo Muti dedicates performance to people of Ukraine | What's so great about queer composers?
| | As we approach International Women's Day on 8 March, we're celebrating music by women in our annual Festival of Female Composers. Across 4–8 March we're playing amazing music by women through the ages. Your favourite programs and presenters will be packed with gorgeous music, including a special International Women's Day presenter line-up. Kick off the festival with Vanessa's Drive Festival Club with Chineke! founder Chi Chi Nwanoku (4pm today). Then settle in with our much-loved Hilda-thon! Starting at 8pm with music inspired by the mystic abbess, then at midnight light some candles and bliss out with six hours of music from one of the most incredible women in history, Hildegard von Bingen. And don't miss our very special Drive Live performance with pianist and composer Belle Chen, who shares her own music and stories, as well as the music of female composers who have come before. Plan your festival with our guide to listening and find out more about just some of the amazing women we'll be featuring. |
