East Baton Rouge residents are trying to get their minds around the region's new garbage-pickup contract. Right now, the main plan has rates going up and the number of pickups per week going down. There's an option to keep twice-a-week pickups, at an even higher cost.

In case you missed the election results from the weekend, there will be a big shakeup on the East Baton Rouge Parish School Board. An appeals court race went pretty much as expected, and taxes were approved for the sheriff's office and St. George Fire Department.
