A Pennsylvania federal judge slammed a Pittsburgh firm with a scathing opinion outlining what she described as the firm's "campaign of deception designed to line their own pockets.” The conduct involved crafting letters meant to catch a debt collections company in a collections violation. Reporter Aleeza Furman outlines the case. Also, insurance defense firms, which are known for having lower rates, are now pushing for rate increases at a time when they are seeing an explosion of work in certain markets that is stretching the firms thin. Reporter Amanda O'Brien explains the dynamic.
