| | Senior Centre superstar takes the win Each year on Australia Day, the City acknowledges leading citizens who are role models in our community and who inspire others to make a contribution of their own at the Community Citizen of the Year Awards. We're thrilled to announce that one of our incredible volunteers, Maureen Stevenson, was awarded the 2024 Community Citizen of the Year - Senior! Maureen is the heart and soul of the Cockburn Seniors Centre in Spearwood and dedicates almost every day of her week to making a difference. Maureen goes above and beyond by actively encouraging participation in seniors' activities and promoting both the mental and physical wellbeing of those in our community. | 2024 WA Volunteer of the Year Awards The WA Volunteer of the Year Awards promote the value and important contribution of volunteering to the social, cultural, economic and environmental wellbeing of Western Australia and pay tribute to those volunteers who inspire and promote the spirit of volunteerism through their exemplary endeavours. Each year individuals, groups, community organisations, government or local business organisations are invited to nominate a special individual or organisation they believe is worthy of recognition for a WA Volunteer of the Year Award. Finalists from each category will be invited to the formal gala dinner presentation at The Westin Perth on Thursday 23 May 2024. Volunteering WA are running an online course to help you refresh your VEP, ensuring your program is built on solid foundations and has systems and processes that flow.
