Good morning, here are some of today's top headlines. Crime drop lauded: New Orleans was one of a handful of cities chosen earlier this year for an intensive FBI-led law enforcement program. Operation Clean House wrapped up in June, and FBI Director Christopher Wray was in town this week to laud the "extraordinary" drop in violent crime here. Missy Wilkinson has the details. Shamrock shutdown: Lower crime doesn't mean no crime, of course, and a local bar that was the scene of a fight that ended with a homicide has been ordered to shut down. Gabriella Killett has this report. Warehouse seized: The Mystic Krewe of Nyx took out a $671,000 loan it hasn't been able to repay, and now the Sheriff's Office has seized its headquarters, a warehouse once used for membership gatherings and storage. Doug MacCash has the story. Thanks for joining us. Check back for more news, entertainment and sports from The Times-Picayune. Chad |
