Families: Kids@CAM Guest artist "Mr. Mark" Herbert Saturday, June 15, 2019, 11-2 PM (Suggested donation: $5.00 per child) Guest artist and educator Mr. Mark Herbert (founder of the Broccoli Brothers Circus and Nature Brigade Parade) will get creative with puppets and props made out of recycled materials! Mr. Mark will teach us about the environment, recycling and healthy living through art and songs! Explore our galleries and learn about other artists who create out of recycled materials. Art Inspires Teddy Burgh, flute Thursday, June 20, 6:30 PM CAM Members: Free Museum Admission all others Taking inspiration from CAM's current exhibition Along the Eastern Sea Road: Hiroshige's Fifty-three Stations of the Tokaido, (on view through Sept. 22), Teddy Burgh, has composed music for select works that he will perform in the gallery and explain his inspiration for the compositions. Dr. Burgh is a Professor teaching subjects that include Music of Ancient Israel and Music in Religion in the Department of Philosophy and Religion at UNCW. He has lectured at CAM and performed in the Jazz@the CAM series as part of the FROG Project. |

Talk ArtCurious with Jennifer Dasal Sunday, June 23, 2019, 2:00 PM CAM Members & Students: $10, Non-Members: $15 Curator and host of ArtCurious Podcast, Dasal comes to CAM for an afternoon of the unexpected, the slightly odd, and the strangely wonderful in art history. Her independent audio show, ArtCurious, is art history for all, focusing on the offbeat and lesser-known stories in art and asking surprising questions: did Van Gogh commit suicide or was he murdered? Was a British painter actually Jack the Ripper? And how did the CIA covertly support modern art? Join Dasal as she discusses why and how ArtCurious came to be and shares one of her favorite strange stories. Jennifer Dasal is the Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art at the NC Museum of Art. Her research expertise includes contemporary art with a particular interest in women artists and Asian art. |

CAM Filmmaker Series The Last of the Mohicans Q&A with Chunky Huse, Key Grip and Jeff Goodwin, Makeup Artist Thursday, June 27, 2019, 6:30 PM CAM Members and Students with ID: Free, Non-Members: S5.00 Each film will be presented by one of Wilmington's own resident filmmakers and followed with a Q&A session. In addition to The Last of the Mohicans, Chunky Huse has worked on over 120 films including Batman Begins, Divine Secrets of the Ya Ya Sisterhood Push, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves and Total Recall, twenty of them filmed in North Carolina. Makeup artist Jeff Goodwin is known for his work on Blue Velvet, Super Mario Bros. and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles among other film and television credits. The Last of the Mohicans (1992, 112 mins. Rated R) stars Daniel Day Lewis and Madeline Stowe with Russell Means and Wes Studi. Three trappers protect the daughters of a British Colonel in the midst of the French and Indian War. |
