Dear Friend, Welcome back to my Week in Review newsletter. Please remember to follow me on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube for regular updates on how I am serving the people of South Carolina! Faith in America This week, Americans celebrated Independence Day and the freedoms that make our country the greatest in the world. Our nation’s birthday is a beautiful reminder of the blessing it is to be an American. Thanks to our founders’ wisdom and foresight, no other country on earth enjoys the freedoms we do. While they were not perfect, America’s founding fathers were exceptional. They rose above the prevailing thought of their time to create a system where eventually, everyone would have the freedom to chart their own destiny and build a better life. This week, we also watched as the President started his “Bidenomics” tour in an effort to whitewash his failed economic policies. Bidenomics couldn’t be further from the founders’ dream of freedom and opportunity. Instead of empowering small businesses to succeed, President Biden has crushed the free market with burdensome regulations. By taking power from the people and giving it to Washington, D.C. bureaucrats, this President has opposed the founders’ belief that government is not the answer, but the problem. Instead of helping taxpayers keep their hard-earned money, the President has hit Americans with the hidden tax of historic inflation. His economic policies have crushed the American dream of buying a home, owning a car, and raising a financially stable family. They have eroded the founders’ vision of a land where every individual had control over their destiny. However, my faith in America remains strong. Our country has overcome too much during our 245 years of independence to give up now. One bad leader cannot destroy our country. Our founders overcame all odds to win their freedom. I’m not going to give up on their hope in America. I have faith we can once again come together and build an even greater chapter of the next American century. Sincerely, |
