Facebook is still depriving Australia of much of its financial entitlement. The number one social network has told a standing committee of the Australian Senate that it booked a vast majority of its Australian income for 2016 outside the country.

 



A multi-million-dollar cyber security research and development centre will be set up in Sydney by British telco BT, the NSW Government has announced. The centre is expected to employ a significant number of highly skilled staff.

Australia's third largest telco TPG Telecom has announced a 9% rise in its net profit after tax to $413.8 million for its full year 2017 which ended on July 31. However, the company cut its dividend to conserve funds for its upcoming mobile rollout.

It seems that Apple’s Face ID technology on the iPhone X has creeped out a significant portion of US consumers. A new survey from Juniper suggests 40% of US iOS users are unlikely to use Face ID for payment security.

GS1, the global business communications standards organisation, has announced a collaboration with IBM and Microsoft to leverage GS1 standards in their enterprise blockchain applications for supply chain clients.

Security vendor Kaspersky Lab has reacted to reports that Australian retailer Harvey Norman will no longer be selling its products by saying it respects the decision of any business to sell and market products as it sees fit.
