An unwelcome mat: Florida drug-peddlers give away the game People love to spruce up their entryways with cute signs and clever welcome mats, but did you ever wonder if your decorations could get you in trouble? Well, a pair of drug dealers in Florida found this out the hard way after their tongue-in-cheek doormat gave officers a heads up into their illicit activities.
The dealers had been suspected and reported on by other community residents for some time, but it was only when police decided to pay them a visit that they saw the writing on the wall (or ground, in this case). The welcome mat at the door of their home read “Come back with a warrant,” and the police in charge of the case immediately left and did just that. With the help of the warrant, they were able to arrest the pair along with two others and save an at-risk child. I guess that mat wasn’t about to let these dealers walk all over it anymore.
