Eyes turn to Nicholas' rains as Ida recovery continues

As the recovery from Hurricane Ida rolls on, it's time to shift our eyes again to the Gulf of Mexico and the heavy rain threat posed by Nicholas. Forecasters said Monday night that Nicholas could strengthen from a tropical storm to a hurricane before making landfall on the Texas coast this week. After that, the storm is expected to move over Louisiana. Flash flood worries abound.

Before the storm hit, some local governments are asking residents to clean up what they can. David Mitchell reports.

LSU acknowledges not all things were perfect as it imposed a vaccine mandate in Tiger Stadium last Saturday, though a lot of things went right. Some fans said they were never asked whether they had had a vaccine or a recent negative test or a recent coronavirus illness. The athletic department didn't weigh in on whether any changes will be needed for this week's game.
