Thank you for tuning in to the first two episodes of the ABC’s investigative documentary series EXPOSED: The Ghost Train Fire.
We’ve been inundated with feedback and support from people all over Australia and beyond, commending the brave families and witnesses.
We’d like to give you a heads up about what you're about to see and hear in the upcoming episode 3 finale.
In episode 2 we revealed the woeful police investigation and flawed coronial inquest into the deaths of six children and an adult.
We unearthed multiple witnesses who heard and saw a group of males behaving suspiciously outside the Ghost Train, including one witness who heard talk of kerosene and matches, and others who smelt kerosene themselves. But were not called at the inquest.
And then there’s the disturbing claims from witnesses who felt intimidated, bullied, threatened and hounded to change their statements, and others who were fobbed off or told by police to leave out crucial information from their statements.
With so much revealed about the botched initial police investigation, signs are now firmly pointing to corruption on the part of the lead detective Doug Knight, and suppression of evidence of suspicious circumstances and arson.
